  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

350 miles says the odometer. On a 30 mile ride, only 4 miles gets logged. Clock works, and so does the hourmeter. I tookban old toothbrush and scrubbed the magnet, thinking it was dirty. Still nothing.

It's either that little connector behind the headlight, if it gets the full hose when you wash it, it craps out.
Clean it out with contact cleaner or WD40 and put some dieelectric grease to prevent this in the future.
Or the wire up has been pinched or something.
On very rare occasion the sensor packs out, but unlikely.

scrubbing the magnet doesn't do anything except making me smile... :)

Thanks. I'm thinking a pinched wire. Not very well protected where it comes off the caliber. I'll try the connected first though.

The connector near the caliper should be wedged in the slot to protect it and there should be a zipty holding it there.

I repositioned it so it was better protected. Now the Speedo works. Guess the wire is broke. Dealer wants $30 for new wire. Have to get the whole thing, from the pick-up, to the computer readout. I guess the pick-up and first 3" of wire to the first plug is not sold separately.

I just found my wire had been snapped cleaned with only the protective sheilding holding the cable together...and that was at the handle bar side!! There seems to be quite a bit of slack so it looks like a cut and solder time.

PS. You don't need to buy the expensive KTM/Husqvarna/Trailtech cable, just mate the existing wire with some bell wire and shrink seals??
