• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Speed wobble

I am a new Huski rider. I have a new 2013 TE 310. I have just had a shoulder surgery so i haven't the upper boy strength to ride the dirt yet but have been riding the street some. I have noticed that after 45 mph the bike for lack of e better explanation feels like it has a controlled speed wobble. Is this the stalk tire?? Is it set up wrong. Any ideas??

The stock tires are not very good, but the wobble may be from something as simple as race sag. Proper suspension setup will eliminate many rider woes such as speed wobble.

Is this a side to side wobble ? or does it just seem to sort of feel like it has a sort of shake? I had a front wheel that gave a shake / wobble so popped in a lighter smaller type of rim lock and it vanished.
Strangly this wheel the rim lock was close to the valve but my other wheel that did not shake the valve and rim lock are drilled as opposites.
If all the wheel bearings and headstock bearings are good this is most likely to be the cause.

If this is on hard top it might be an out of balance wheel. Most front wheels have rim locks on and that is fine in the dirt. However a counter balance on the opposite side to the rim lock is preferable for frequent road riding.
May also consider dropping the front forks down a notch in the clamps. That will put a tad more weight on the front and has been known to cure matters (will also improve steering response time marginally)

Got rid of my wobble (630SM) .... eventually, by having the wheels carefully balanced. Has to be done again after a while or the wobble returns.

Does the TE310 have the same *(&* Michelin front tire as the TE449? I never knew how bad that tire was until Ty put the Goldentyre on the front of mine. All that high speed wobble simply went away. That Michelin grabbed every line, crack and pebble that caused me to keep both hands on the bars at all times at speed. The Goldentyre goes where you point it with zero issues.

You sound like your having the same trouble. I dont store it here so i cant look but yes this thing grabs every little line in the road**************************************** I'll take the time here as well to thank every one that responded. I think a new tire might be the way to go with some balance. I dont really plan on riding the road much. Thank Aged :)
