  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Special Parts 300 kits availability

MOTORHEAD

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the "Special Parts" 300 kits availability, or any of the items from the "Special Parts" catalog, are they available here in the states yet?

I've agreed to buy a used '07 WR250 and I'm very interested in the possibilities of converting it to a 300.

I read on here a while back that the clothing could be ordered, but I did know about the hardware.

Last i heard that stuff still isnt available here (im sure i will be corrected if im wrong!)

But here are some ideas for you:

Try contacting Husky R and D in Australia. They are very very good about sending stuff to the US (my parts arrive in 7 days!) and with the exchange rates the way they are, things are about the same cost, including shipping--or even less.

Anyway--Husky RD would be a great 'work around'

Another option is CH sponsor Huskysport in the UK. Ive not bought stuff from them, but they sure seem like good guys.

Lastly-the WR300 parts will bolt up to a 250. So you could just buy OEM pieces and not a whole kit, although it might cost more.

Some ideas.

Let us know if/when you get 'hardparts' stuff.

Email me if you want the 300 kit. We deal with Athena all the time with the 4 stroke kits so getting the 2 stroke kit should not be an issue.

I just called it "Special Parts" because that's what it says on the cover.:excuseme:

I don't think the 300 two stroke kit is Athena, is it?
