  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

spark arrestor - 2006 TE450 ???

Logroller

Husqvarna
AA Class
Any have or know if the '06 te450 has a screen spark arrestor in the muffler or another spark arrestor (rotating) in the system?

My '06 never had one in the end cap, but I did buy it with 12hrs umpteen years ago. So who knows if it was there or not. I cannot really tell if the riveting is stock or not with the end cap, because it looks so clean. Either way Husky does not break down the exhaust parts.I've ridden the beast for 6 years without an end cap screen so no big deal, but some ranger in areas are picky with pipes, stock or not.

Anyone know if the stock can or piping came with a spark arrestor on '06 te450?

I have 2 2006 TE 510 the first bike was #9 off the line a early release it had no screen So I added one to the end The second bike came with one but the screen is right were the muffler meets the head pipe

^^^^Weird.

Yeah, nothing in my can and if it's in the pipe it is further down the line towards the engine which also would be weird.

They do have them in the muffler, not in the end cap like you would expect, but it is down by the inlet. I took mine apart to repak and shorten the can. It's in there! Even look on the can it is stamped USFS approved.

My 2006 te450 can is a straight line of sight from the end cap to front. No screen at all. If you were talking about your '07 te510, there are differences in the models, like the can. My can is not stamped USFS. It only meets US EPA noise requirements as stamped on the can for model A6122.

This thread will clear things up. Wish I knew, wish my dealer told me, this when I bought the bike 6 years ago.
