  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Sourcing clutch cover gasket for '92 360

Dauer

Husqvarna
AA Class
As the title states I'm in need of a gasket for my clutch inspection cover. The obvious answer is Halls, problem is I'm on my second incorrect gasket from them after providing the correct part number from the parts schematic they provide. Not trying to flame Halls as I'm confident they will make it right and they are a valuable asset to the Husky community. Simply curious if there are alternatives or anyone else has experienced difficulty sourcing this gasket?
I've searched on Ebay and it seems that Athena makes them but they're all in the UK and the price with shipping is silly. Tried ordering the gasket from parts unlimited for a later WR 360 (Part number is the same thru 360 model run) and was surprised to receive what were rubber O-rings. So no dice there.
It's now going on two weeks being unable to ride after I installed a new clutch and I'm really itching to get out there. What are your collective thought on using a semi-drying sealant (yamabond no. 4) as an alternative to a paper gasket in the interim?

i bought the athena complete kit for most of my gaskets, the rest from halls. the gasket from athena was paper with a silicone-like center. have you been speaking with halls over the phone?

Yes, spoke with them over the phone. Ordered a clutch gasket from them a few months ago, discovered it was the incorrect one a couple weeks ago. I informed them of this and they sent me what was supposed to be the correct one free of charge (which is why I will always be a Halls customer) and while different, unfortunately it is incorrect as well. Plan to call them tomorrow to see of we can't get down to the bottom of this. :excuseme:

Buy some gasket paper and cut one out yourself, saves time and money I've done this for engine casings base gaskets and steering boxes.

Update: After speaking with Hall's again, turns out I'm an idiot. Did not realize that the hole locations were not symmetrical and upon further inspection the gasket is correct. Once again Hall's comes to the rescue. Not all was lost however, at least I had a good laugh at myself. Thanks guys.

Nice to see you admit this mistake and cop the flak instead of leaving the thread open ended and leaving everyone thinking your supplier screwed up.
Well done mate. A tip of me hat to you.

Wouldn't be fair to anyone if I didn't. I'll be the first to admit my mistake, last thing I would want to do is jeopardize my good standing with Hall's and the fine people on this forum...but mostly Hall's :)
