• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So here it is, Huskys 2011 beast powered by BMW!

photo chop from thumpertalk. I'm guessing this is real close to reality. Hopefully on the real bike it will be EFI and the EFI body will line up with the intake port :D

Here is the photchop from the net...

Lots of speculation and for the most part very incorrect.

Cool. I look forward to what they come up with. I have faith it will be good, everything else is so it seems probable.

I hope its not as bad as everyone is making out to be, otherwise I'll have to go back to Suzuki RMX450 :excuseme:

I would love this.......

Seriously....the retro look is doing well and the triumph sales are proving it. It is also a good option for surplus engines.

As an additional model I can see this doing well. To change the line to look like that would be a disaster.

Yes of course.....as an additional model for sure. Retro, reliable, classic alternative for DS to the awsome new TE630. 50 state legal and fits the demographic niche of the typical husky owner. (older dudes)

Does it have a kick as plan B if you get stuck in the woods?

Don't ride in flatlands, it will push start even with a failing battery very easily with the fuel injection,..........ask me how I know

Ok is it going to be a 250 or 450? It appears I am as confused as most LOL!

This is all rumor and speculation right now but this is supposed to be the 450 replacement. Husky 250 with the BMW inspired small and good 450 motor. We will see.

So is the BMW 450 motor better and more powerful than the current 450 Husky motor?

I believe it is smaller and lighter. Reported to make good power. never rode one.

I can't imagine riding a dirtbike without a kicker backup. The Husky SMRs don't have them and sometimes it makes me nervous! But I'm all ears on the 2011. By then i'll be ready for a new ride for sure. :)
