• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SMS Powercommander MAPS

630 driver

Husqvarna
B Class
Hello all,

I just got my powercommander installed and I wanted to know if anyone is riding an SMS with a powercommander and using a map other than the stock maps they offer. I tried the stock pipes map and my bike just sputters and stalls so I switched to the Leo Vinche map and it still does not run very well. I was hoping to find someone who had a better map they would be willing to let me try until I can get to a Dyno. Thanks

Can't help you with the maps, but was your bike I-beat tuned when the PowerUp was done?

well yes and no, it came stock with the power up kit and I believe they would have tuned it. I could be wrong... I purchased ibeat and when i looked at the three fuel values and they were all at 100 and the tps read 0 closed and 100 when open. I could not find anything in the workshop manual or the ibeat manual that gave me any idea what the readings were supposed to be. Do I need to make further adjustments?

Those are the baseline settings. To get my bike running well, I used my dealer's I-beat and set the three fuel settings higher than 100%.
The settings that I ended up with are:

Low - 103%
Mid - 120%
High - 112%

Not long after that I got a JD Jetting tuner, and richened it up a bit more across the board, moreso in the low and high ranges. This was with my opened stock pipes and opened airbox, so YMMV...
Since you've got I-beat, it's easy to trim the fuel up. What pipes do you have, and is your airbox opened up yet?

I opened up the airbox by removing that labrinth piece of plastic. I also pulled the cats out of the pipes but I have not welded in tubes yet. I want to use the perforated pipe and packing. I have not had a chance to change gearing or anything, I wanted to try the mods first so I would still have the top speed.

I used the stock pipe map when I first installed the PCV and the bike ran great. Still had hesitation with hard acceleration but no sputters or stalling. Only had PU and labyrinth removed at the time. Is it possible you did not connect the grey wire to the correct orange/black wire? Also, I later added a FMF Factory 4.1 system, opened up the airbox and added the autotune. Runs perfect now, no hesitation.IMG_0927[1].JPG

The PC-V is installed correctly, I contacted them and they asked me to try a zero map and run it, then completely remove the PC-V and see what happens. They gave me a different O2 sensor delete plug than the one that came stock on my bike. I put it in just because it came with the kit and I believe it is the issue. With a zero map the bike still has stalling. When I get a chance tonight I am going to swap the plugs out and see if that helps then I will go back to installing the PC-V and using the base map.
