• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

sms 630. power commander

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi there, anyone out there recently fitted a power commander V on their husky sms630?

thanks,
Enrique:banana:

i would appreciate any input..../ feedback/ etc.etc..

i put a pc5 on my 610 as there's no retailers or support for JD in the uk. got a custom map for it. all in all quite an expensive solution but it was done in a day, set up perfectly and has sorted the bike with dyno charts to prove it. the extra £££ was worth the peace of mind for me anyway

How much of a difference did it make on the 610? What other mods? PU? Pipe? Etc?

got a leo vince full system. the pc kit comes with a 'power up' plug just like the one otherwise available. it's the custom mapping that makes the difference though. attached is my dyno chart. the red line is the finished setting. up to you if you think it's worth the £££ but i did it 50% for making sure it wasn't running too lean, which you'll see from the bottom chart with just the exhaust and 'pu' kit fitted it was, massively!

Most ppl on the forum go for the JD Tuner because it's half the price and works pretty good. There's no need for a pc as well, you can just adjust the JD Tuner on the fly ;)

I had mine installed when I bought it. Got the PC5 and the autotune. I do like the no-brainer aspect. If I had to do over I guess I would follow what everyone is saying re the JD Tuner.

thanks guys. i've decided to go for a pc5 and take it to this guy in australia who know his way around the dyno. last time i brought my ducati748sp there and installed a power commander, he ended up doing around 35 runs on the dyno just fine tuning everything.

i'll hope for the best. keep you guys posted.

by the way, im having trouble acquiring axle sliders for my husky sms630 here in australia. tried trooper lu's but they unfortunately couldn't help me.

any suggestions, someone in the us?

stick your dyno chart up when it's done. be interesting to see what the 630's put out (in reality) compared to the 610's.

i think it's a good shout getting the power commander. the JD unit sounds cool but if they don't sell it in your country you're gonna get stung on import duty, plus no after sales support. 50% of the cost of my pc5 install etc was dyno time. people are saving money doing their jd units on the fly but i'd rather just get mine set up perfect to begin with and know it's been done properly :)
