• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi guys i am running a standard airbox on my bike, with PU kit fitted,Twin Arrows from Husky with ECU.On the airbox there is a black plastic tube trumphet. Is it ok to remove this now on this setup.I will be getting a JD Tuner and EHS filter when i have clocked up a few more miles. Its only done 300 miles.Thanks.

it will be louder and more prone to water sucking in crossing water with little benefit as in is same as out diameter

This is what a airfilter box looks like on the inside. Brand new due to the problem with brass nuts rotating in plastic on the old one, I will swap with new and use some
copper grease on the bolts to stop corrosion and hence sticking bolt/nut.

Wonder whether it might be possible to get rid of all that (filter and box) and replace it with a traditional K&N (or similar) pod?

It's been done, but I heard it made the intake noise unbearable and caused the loss of some low-end torque...

Can someone take some pictures for me of any mods to air box,ie EHS Filter. If i fit the EHS Filter is that all i need to do.Snorkels now gone. Thanks guys

I´d like some further info on the air filter pod too (if it´s available?).
If it fits, all the rest should just be a question of setting up the JD.

I recently put a stock airbox cover back on.

... and there´s a pod under the cover? What´s it made up out of? ... and howd´s it work? ... very loud? Power?

I read somewhere that K&N make up kits to order.

The EHS is just a pre-filter. The factory foam filter is still used in the airbox, the EHS just lets more air into the airbox than the factory snorkel...

Ok ... so it´s the same as mine is at the moment. I was thinkimg of getting rid ofn the whole airbox & lid and replacing it with a K&N pod.

The EHS filter is a screen that lets air in but keeps water out. Behold!

Note the dry paper towel underneath.

It does seem to give the bike a bit more grunt, but I don't know if it's enough improvement that I want to run around with a big hole in my airbox. As you can see, I get wet. :)

Mine´s too loud as it is at the moment (twin Arrows). Any more would be a tad too provocative (especially as I´m on the brink of losing my licence for a month).
