  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SMR sidestand length: please measure yours?

I Just lowered my TE250 and the side stand is now too short. I'm thinking of ordering an SMR stand but would like to know how long it is first. My TE side stand, part number H0233, is about 16" (or 41cm) from the center of the bolt to the tip, measured on the outside. I'd expect the SMR stand to be shorter.
  • Would someone mind measuring their aluminum SMR kick stand for me, as I measured mine above?
  • Also, the stand should be marked with the part number just below the bolt in the inside (you have to look from the opposite side and under the bike to find it.) The SMR stand should be part number H0234?
Thanks,
Carl

How did you lower your Bike? For the street I am running a SM set-up 17s with a 2011 630 SMR stand
13 1/2 center pin to tip. bolts right on, stock pn#HO234 $ 80 +/- . Tall bike in the dirt is not a problem with me (like to be on the pegs) on the street itIMGP0008.JPGIMGP0009.JPGIMGP0010.JPG sucks (30 inseam) Ha Ha....

Good luck

Rob

MNB, You are right, 41cm or 410 mm. I fixed the original post. ;-)

Rob,
Hah, my inseam is at best 29". And I suspect your bike might be shorter than mine with those 17" street wheels! I thought it would be OK in the dirt, but hillsides and other awkward spots have been issue. On the street I wouldn't care at all... funny how we have that reversed. Your stand is 2.5 inches shorter, that might just be perfect!

Do you mind checking the part number on your stand? It should be just under the bolt on the under side?
