I need some opinions. My 2007 SMR 510 has 27,000 KM on the clock. The previous owner did the timing chain, cylinder and piston at 10,000 km and I replaced the piston at 17,000 km. The manual suggests connecting rod, bearings, and valves. I really don't want to do headwork unless I have to, and the valves haven't moved at all in 10,000 km since I adjusted them when I put the piston in it. I haven't found any metal shavings or anything out of the ordinary in the oil and I change it every 1000 km, or more often if I get the engine wet.
Do you guys think I should change the con-rod and big end bears for peace of mind and longevity or am I wasting my money?
