• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sm610, no start, please help?

First post so I apologize of its in the wrong section or anything like that.

Anyways, I bought a 2009 Sm610 with about 9k on it. The bike ran great until one day I took it to work, and when I went to leave, it wouldn't start. It was just turning over and wouldn't even try to pop of. It never had any issues until then, no indications of any problems.

So once I got it home, I tested for spark and fuel. Fuel pump works, tried spraying starter fluid in the intake but still nothing. When I checked for spark, nothing. I checked fuses, replaced the plug and wire but still nothing. I tool off the crank case cover and the stator looks intact, magnets are still in place. Kill switch is functioning properly. I've inspected all the wires and connectors, they all seem good.

Bike still won't run tho and I'm out of ideas besides loading up the parts canon and firing away. So if anyone has any ideas or thought I'd be more then willing to hear them because I've been pulling my hair out with this bike for over a month now.
Thank you!

My 630 has similar problem and it seems the ignition coil is bad. Its not that hard to test it, so you should look at it. If you dont know how to, then check the manual or ask here ;)

Seems crazy but try a different battery ,I had one that turned over and all tested good unhooked the battery and jumped with another and fired right up.Make sure intake manifold is not ripped or broken and bolts havent backed out another really common no start problem.
