• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SM610 front brake switch

Husqvarna
Hello everyone, I recently acquired a 2006 SM610 and noticed it does not have a front brake light switch. There's nothing there (at the lever), and there's a connector hanging loose. I bought the brake light switch for this bike (Brembo package) but it does not mount properly, I'm thinking there's a piece to the brake lever that's missing, something with some sort of plunger to activate the switch. Could someone with an SM610 or TE610 post a picture of their front brake light switch so I can see what I'm missing?

btw the Husqvarna fiche was no help. Thank you

I'll post a pic of my 07 SM's front brake perch tomorrow when I'm next to it.

Here is the bottom side of the front brake master/perch assembly on my '07 SM610. Hope this helps...

Does it the top of it look like this?

The brake switch I got looks similar to yours, but my brakes look to be a different style where it doesn't mount

No, mine doesn't look like that. Where yours has the block-looking tab with two mounting holes inboard from the pivot, my casting tapers to the reservoir. Looking at the parts diagrams and comparing to your photos, it appears that you have a front master cylinder for a 2005 SM510. There is indeed a small pin (called a pawl in the parts fiche) that contacts the switch.

I think you're correct Jon. Do you by any change have the part number for that switch?

I don't know the history of this bike so it's possible the brake lever assembly was replaced from another model bike. It's really made it a nightmare finding that switch. Thanks for your help.

I do, but I'm at home now. Obviously we have the switch in stock, we can ship it to you if you'd like. I don't know if we have the pawl in stock. Feel free to give us a call at 888-806-1153 from 9 to 6 :)
