• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

sm610 clutch problem

MotAd

Husqvarna
AA Class
ever since i had my 610 i've had this issue with the clutch that i've just lived with but as winter's almost here i'm thinking of opening her up and having a look. basically when i first set off on the bike i can get up and down the gears no problem, the clutch is totally fine, but the warmer the bike gets it feels like the clutch engages less, even with the lever all the way back to the bar - the shifting gets quite notchy.

sound familiar to anyone?

cheers

I had the same problem as you. A guy told me that the problem could be due to warp steel disc. Then I ordered a set of steel disc and friction disc from Barnett to give it a try. After a month of using it, I can say that the feeling of "clutch disengage lesser as the bike warm up" is still there. But it is much lesser than before. As a lot of people is saying that it is a characteristic of SM610, I just have to live with it.

It's good to know it's not just mine. Sounds like a 'feature' of the bike. Thanks guys, mind at rest

i have installed honda 600 clutch plates and fixed my clutch problems and saved heaps clutch pack is about 1 mm thicker which i think is a good thing

so yours was doing a similar thing before and the honda plates have stopped it? sounds good...

Mine only drags when it's cold, first start of the day. I just disengage the clutch a little longer before I toe it into gear that first time.

This has been mystifying me for a few days now. Glad to read this. It's been cold lately here in SoCal and mine has been slightly dragging in first.

I have finally solved the clutch disenage lesser when hot issue of my sm610. It is due to a bent shaft assembly. Can give it a try.
