• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sm610 06´ problem

Husqvarna
A Class
Hey there husky friends. A good friend of mine who owns sm610 (carbed) was riding his bike normaly. The red RPM light turn up. He stoped and turn of his bike. When bike was in netural it turn of, but then again when he rode it, red light was shining again.

As i know red light turns up, when there is a problem. What should be checked?
He has some oil in his cooling sistem, but it is minimal. I think that there isent a sensor who would sense that? :)

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that light is only a max-RPM indicator. I've had quite a few issues with wires shorting on my bike (same model), causing the instrument cluster to behave pretty badly. The connector on the back can also become loose, resulting in strange behaviour. I've also heard (rumours only from my mechanic) of the unit being unreliable, but I haven't found the electronics to be bad, just the electrics.

Like GB said, it's the max rpm indicator. They have a tendency to light up for no reason ( sure there is a reason, but not the normal reason ) but they don't typically stay on. I have seen mine come on once or twice, but just for a sec. and not when the rpm's were high enough to cause it to come on. I don't pay much mind to the speedo anymore. They are not the most reliable part on the bike. As long as the bikes running smooth I'd forget about it. I would however be a bit worried about oil in the coolant or vis versa.
