• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SM 630 Rear tyre?

Langus

Husqvarna
B Class
I would like to buy pair of tyres for race days and I was wondering if 160/60R17 Pirelli Diablo Superbike NHS would fit to rear wheel? I am afraid of rubbing tyre on chain? Did anyone fit 160 on rear wheel?

Please attach some pictures!

Cheers,

David

I believe chain slap is less of a concern than spooning a 160 onto the oem 4.25" wheel. You'll notice a lot of guys upgrading hoops to deal with this and run a 160 without issue.

I have a 2008 610SM with a 4.25 inch rim. Not sure if this is the same rim and swing arm as the 630. I have run the Bridgestone BT021 in a 160/60, and also Dunlop Roadsmart in a 160 on the stock 4.25 inch rim. Each time there was about 1/4 inch clearance on each side and never had any chain rub.

I've got a 160 diablo on my stock rear, the squished profile doesn't seem to hurt, and it actually gives me a better contact patch at full lean. With the 150 I was to the sidewall when i would start scrubbing pegs.

I have a 160 michelin slick that I got cheap.. this thing looks so huge I can't imagine that it will fit in there
I heard that michelin tyres are rather wide though..

i have a 150. pilot road rear. its has chain slap slightly on the tire. however i am using the tire pass the edgen front and rear. i have a fresh 160 rear mich. pilot power that will go on after a couple of weeks
