  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Skid plate

looking for stock skid plate for 2015 FE350. Or what aftermarket one do you suggest. I liked the stock one, just wish I had replaced that goofy fastner with a regular nut and bolt. I liked the ease of taking it off to clean the bike, changing oil is usually easy on any of them with the hole in it.

If you're thinking of going aftermarket I'd recommend checking out the SxS Slideplate. Good slick full coverage with a linkage guard.

OEM with a Obie link is good. Just tie wrap it at the front to avoid any jettison situation . I've been lucky with my 2014 never falling off yet...

Well I bought the Acerbis unit from RM. Good price, nice piece, Bolt instead of a quick fastner. Says right on the website it is for my bike, will fit, double checked that and guess what,it DOESNT freaking fit unless you cut the wing off the left (ignition cover) side.

P3 Carbon for me. I got a second quality off of Ebay that had a few outer rough (1"long) surface imperfections from the molding process and it was like $40.00 off.
Trust me it had a few more surface imperfections after the bike got ridden.
It has a billet aluminum lower rear loop on the frame tube and a billet front frame bracket with 2 button head Allen head screws. It comes off quickly to do oil changes and has taken a beating for over 2 years with zero damage.
