• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Skid Plate Idea ? 2019 300

Kam1

Husqvarna
AA Class
Well the bike build has made some progress , front springs installed, (air would have been nice :banghead: ) , handguards installed , bars moved forward. The question I keep wondering is do I go with a fugly Emperor Skid plate and not have to get pipe guard and flange protector , or go with a standard skid plate , pipe guard , and flange protector ?I ride single track , slow, rocky, rooty, washed out , tree infested single track ? What do you guys think , pros and cons ?

I've heard really great things about the AXP plastic plates. I don't care for the emperor combo. Don't like metal and don't want to deal with cleaning that out.

I have a carbon fiber guard for the expansion chamber but that's just to protect from small dings. Kind of look at them as a consumable anyway lol

SXS. AXP. TMD the first 2 have built in linkage guards, with TMD you can add an extension like Obie for a link guard , all of these slide and glide nicely over stuff

I like how the plastic plates don't stick to logs like the aluminum ones do, also the reduced noise factor is a plus. The AXP would be perfect for the rocks and logs in Missouri.

I have ordered flange protector , and carbon pipe guard , in the next few weeks will order SXS skid plate. ( The husky may have depleted my play budget for a bit .)
