• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SKF Wheel Bearing seal kits cheap!

reveille

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Thought I would pass this deal along to the Cafe Husky members. I just had my suspension re done by MX-Tech and the owner Jeremy mentioned he has a large stock pile of Husqvarna SKF wheel seal sets. They normally sell for $41 and he is blowing them out for $18.99. If anyone is interested give them a call and ask for Jeremy Wilkey. I have no affiliation with MX-Tech, just a satisfied customer passing a good deal along to you guys. Hope this is within the rules of the forum.:excuseme:

Here are pictures of the kits for the front and rear I bought. Comes with new spacers.

OK, got my seal kits. Problem is that there are two different types of seal in each package and the OE seals are the same on each side. Question is, which seal goes on which side?

BTW; It cost me $18.00 for S$H.

Give Jeremy a call, he will get you squared away. I haven't needed new seals as of yet so mine are still in the package.

Thanks for the vid. I hadn't pulled them out of the package yet, so I thought there was two different types of seal in there. They packaged them with on facing in and the other out, and since it's a totally different type of seal, I was confused.

After watching the vid and pulling them out of the package I see what the deal is, now.

BTW; after looking a little deeper into this, I think he installed the seal backwards in the vid. I believe the green side goes in. With that side out, dirt can easily get inside the "labyrinth" part of the seal and ruin it. Having the labyrinth facing the bearing would be much better.

SKF bearings are about the best out there, IMO. All of the internal engine bearings are SKF as OE, which I think is really cool.

I'm not sure about the wheel bearings. I have not replaced the wheel bearings on any of my Huskys with OE bearings, and I don't remember what came out.

Are the spacers steel or aluminum? I've been searching high and low for some steel spacers.

I'm not sure, but if you are looking for wear reasons, then it's irrelevant with this kit. These seals don't spin on the spacer, they spin within themselves. So, they don't groove the spacers like a normal set of seal would do. The labyrinth seal is like two seals in itself. The inner seal rides tightly on the spacer and does not spin. The outer seal portion riders in the hub and spins with it. They create a seal between themselves. That's why I say it would be much better to have the gap between the two sections on the inside, facing the bearing.

Very interesting seals, never seen this technology before.

Has anyone measured the OD of the included front wheel spacer in this kit? Is it the same OD as an OEM one?

I would like to try one of these kits but I have a Motosportz brake disk guard with the front spacer built in (OEM size). I wouldn't care to give up my disk protector in order to run these seals.

Interesting product for sure. Has anyone given these seal kits a serious PNW style test and given them the thumbs up?

Cheers,
Bugs

I plan to get them installed this week. I just finished reassembling my bike and breaking in the Rekluse so the only thing left is the seals.

Reveille,

Any chance you could measure the OD (outside diameter) of the SKF aluminum spacer in the kit prior to you doing the install?

Is it the same as the oem spacer?

Many thanks,

Bugs
