    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Low speed, tight singletrack. Also seems to climb the side of ruts. Not my favorite on hard, slicky dg either. It is a 90/90. I was running an IRC Battle Rally up front before, but changed it out because it wasn't sticking turns in the sand very well, but I really like that tire better in rocks and gravel. It's a very ho-hum looking 50/50 tire that performs very nicely in lots of different terrain and on the street as well. Good feedback and feel in tight going. I will probably return to that tire. I haven't had the Golden Tyre on pavement yet, but can imagine that with the tall flexy knobs, it's not going to feel very solid there.
 
I haven't tried the Golden, only the Shinko 90/90 but either it didn't exibit those characteristics or I didn't notice them. Your experience noticing the difference between bikes seems to be quite perceptive and I've heard other riders with differnt types of bikes make similar comments regarding a tire working on a smaller bike but not on a larger or heavier one. I believe that the GT has a pretty stiff sidewall which does allow more variation of tire pressures to try out. What I'm "guessing" is that the sidewall supports a lighter bike at a lower pressure but may need a pound or two more for a heavier bike?
