• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

If anyone is interested in the Shark brand helmets let me know. The same distributor that does the Motoz tires has them and I get good prices on them. Honestly I know nothing about them but they seem like they are good stuff and are not cheap. MSRP is between $450 and $800 so Iwould say they market at higher end stuff. I can make pretty good deals on them. If you have any interest in them let me know and I'll try to hook you up with a good price.

Made in France and most of them are some sort of carbon fiber.

Ya the Speed R is sweet.
I need a new dirt helmet. If you brought one in for a customer, and the fit was off, or customer totally disliked it, how would you handle that, since it is a special item you are bringing in?
You know how helmet fit is.

I owned a Shark RSI briefly. They are definitely well made helmets and have cool designs. Unfortunately I bought it blind and it wasn't the right internal shape for my head. I'd definitely recommend them, though, and they stand out from the crowd.

Good question, i will ask. These are the same people i deal with for years on the Motoz tires and they have been nothing but accommodating on those and i am sure this is the same. Really good people i deal with there.

Thanks for the feedback as i know nothing about them. Will be buying one for myself for my street bike in a month or so so i will know more.

I do not, thats the only angle I have on helmets and I'm going lightly here as I never intended to sell helmets. I just figured I'd pass on a good deal cost wise if someone wanted one. Seem like nice stuff. Will be getting one to evaluate in about a month.

They look cool, but helmets are like shoes... I NEVER buy them without trying them on.

My friendly local BMW outlet used to carry them, but I havent been in lately to see if they still have any, or how they fit.
