  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sept. issue Trail Rider Mag. test 2010 TE250....

Not sure how many of you get Trail Rider Magazine but they have a test in the Sept. issue of the 2010 TE250. I checked their website and didn't see it though.

I can say this the guy that went to the test loved the bike and said it is a blast to ride. He said it would be interesting to see a datalog of the throttle use, but chances are it would read 0-100-0-100, etc.

That said, on the steepest part of the test course the TE250 pulled it just fine. In identical conditions, in this one uphill turn, where the WR125 bogged hopelessly (being in the wrong gear) and the WR300 almost looped, the TE250 just pulled. Sweetly.

He loved the bike and only small complaints were seat height for tall riders was an issue but once bars moved it was alright. Also seat wasn't to comfortable.

I wish there was a link but I couldn't find it on the website. I guess this is better then nothing for now. :)

I would scan the article in but don't have a way to do so. Plus I might be breaking some copy write law.

They loved the bike only a few minor little things which I think I mentioned. The motor is suppose to be very nice and the guy thought the suspension was a little soft when pushed hard but he said the WEC bike of Meo ( I think is his name) also felt a little soft so it must work because he's been doing well on it.

Motosportz I guess you'll get to give us a ride report soon enough when you pick up your 2010 TXC250 to try out  Be interesting to see how it stacks up to the new 390 you just rode.

me too.

Not to put any pressure on you but I'm going to wait until I see your ride report on both the 390 and new TXC250, or at least I think I am :)

I might not be able to restrain myself I heard a 390 just showed up here on the east coast at a shop I've been talking with so not sure I will be able to hold out

Waiting for now though
