• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seeking unwanted SEM Ignitions

I would like to get an SEM rotor and stator to try to repair the working SEM on my 84 250WR as the rotor lost several magnets and the mounting plate is corroded badly. I would like to also get a second SEM rotor and stator for testing purposes as I have purchased 2 pitbike CDIs so I can develop repair procedures for SEM ignitions. Why? 140 watts of lighting capability is too much for me to pass over as the offroad opportunities in many areas require license plates and street legality as many states require the headlight to operate when the engine is off. Thus causing the need for a storage battery. PM if you have something available.

the WR used the SEM
16 14 798 01 is the one
you will also need the coil for this
my local shop might have one i will inquire if you are interested

On my older 83 wr250 husky with the sem I used one wire for the headline and tail lite.
The other wire for the stop light.

With the leds today a small battery should run the lights when it's shut off. We could wire a few leds to do this. I just purchased a new headlight and it has three bulbs. A high beam, a low beam and a smaller bulb. I'm thinking about registering another one for the street again.

Bill,
Let me know what you got for a headlight. I got a light from Tractor supply but it is only single element.

I purchased the acerbis headlite from "husky-parts". It's $50. Ill look again to make sure it has three filaments. I'm positive it has a small bulb besides the larger one.

It's a nice looking setup. I purchased the tail light that goes under the fender with the plate mount. In the past I had a few registered old left kickers on the street.

I purchased the rear brake light switch and the micro switch for the front handle bar rear brake light. I also used a Suzuki street bike hi/lo headlite switch housing on the handle bar. I also had knobby DOT LEGAL tires f& r. Dual mirrors.
