  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seeking Advice about newly acquired 2011 TE250

Just put a deposit down on a very nice TE250 with something like 450 miles for the wife. She was unable to go for a test ride on it, so I did and I really love the extremely light feel of the bike. (ALMOST made me question my recent purchase of KTM 500EXC) We have worries about parts availability, but hope that parts are not really needed that much, hoping bike is pretty reliable. Are there any good online sources, or should we just rely on dealer (who so far has been very helpful!) I have the following planned: 12 port injector/ECM changeout (it did feel a little boggy on the bottom), going to add a Core 3.0 Rekluse, MT43 trials tires, Scotts stabilizer, HDB and BRP bar stuff. I have a friend who has done lots of suspension lowering jobs, so that is in the cards and a "must do." Also, the stock muffler/spark arrestor seems unnecessarily loud (not sure if it has been modified), so am wanting the absolute quietest muffler/SA combo (must be FS approved), looking at FMF Q4. Anyhow, any advice from you owners out there about "must do" type things is greatly appreciated! Intended usage is the 80-90% trails FS dirt roads and 10-20% pavement to get there. Thanks in advance!:applause:

You're spot on with the must haves. Another thing you may want to get is fuel tank metal elbow. The plastic one may break. Zip Ty Racing makes it. Zip-Ty also sells a tank spacer kit because quite a few people have issues with the hoses getting worn through. If the stock exhaust is loud it must have been gutted as a power up. The only other thing I'd get done for her is a seat concepts seat.

The site sponsors here are great. Protective parts for the bikes are pretty much motosportz and 7602 and they're stuff is great. You like your local dealer and that's great but if you're ever in a hurry to get parts I'd call Halls Cycles or Bills Motorcycles Plus (BMP) because they inventory a ton. I'm assuming you bought it at PJ's?

Oh and the rekluse is awesome on this bike :)

Thx LOM,:applause: I appreciate the help and will do more research. Yes, PJs is where we got it, or going to get it in a week or two. Pretty stoked about it as I really like the bike.

13/50 OEM "race" final drive set up, and get the rear axle as far back as you can with your chain cut, both my TE and TXC310s handled/suspended much better with the axle back.
That OEM race kit (ECU/12 port injector) is a great engine tune mod.
