• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seat Question

High-Side

Husqvarna
AA Class
Does anybody know if the seat is the same on a 2007 SM610 and a 2008 SM610? I'm trying to order an aftermarket seat but they have only made them for 2006-2007 SM 610's and don't have a seat pan for a 2008.

Not many changes to to the 610 in the last few years, I'm pretty sure their the same.

That's what I thought, but for $379 I kind of want to be positive. :D

For that kind of cash you could have one made at XPC using your pan of course, about a one week turn around.

Send your pan out and have it redone. Your azz will thank you for it. I think the 07 down is different. Carb Vs FI

You wouldn't think they had to change the seat on an 08' bike just for fuel injection.

The computer is right under the seat on the FI models, perhaps the base is shaped different to allow room for that.

I called the Husqvarna shop where i bought it and the owner didn't think there was any differance. I hope he is right.

I would find someone in your area that has the 07 seat and try it out on your bike. Tha part numbers are different on 06, 07, 08..Good luck.

I would recommend taking your seat/bike to a local auto upholstery shop that does bikes. I had mine "remodeled" for $75 and love it. It's now an all day seat. My shop has done several bikes for me. I have come to the conclusion that this is not rocket science. And certainly not $300 plus work. I just showed him a pic of a $300+ seat and he did the chinese thing and copied it.

I have to agree with Doorman and Palmer, you could save a lot of
money by having it refoamed somewhere. You might also check out
"Guts". I know for a fact that they have seat alternatives for the 610
because I have one on mine done by the original owner. Jerry

I have been looking for a seat as well for my '08 TE. One that I can ride all day and not get a sore a$$. I looked at Guts racing seat but didn't see one that was softer or bigger.

I took my bike down to Corbin's factory in Holster California and had them make my seat right on the spot. After they carved the new foam they had me ride it before they covered it to make sure it was what I wanted - it was. Then I had them cover the top in their basket-weave material and I had the sides done in Asphalt with their logo in red.
I have been on rides over a hundred miles and the seat/sore ass doesn't even come into play. The seat feels like it sits a little lower but is broader and fits my butt liker a glove. To me it was worth the money to be able to ride my Husky for as long as I want. Below are a few pictures.

My Husky seats become unbearable after long rides and multiple days.
I am having both seats done by Rick Mayer in Ca. in March. He ran a special for $269 + ship for any bike under 600cc, which I thought was a good deal. I have heard good things about his seat work. There is a pic on his website of a 610 with his seat. Looks very comfortable.
He runs different specials off and on.

Did you try on the seat they have for the 07 to see if it would fit?

From what I understand, you have to send in our OE seat and they will upgrade to their seat. Is there a company that you can order a seat from and still keep your OE seat?

That's what Corbin does......you get a whole new seat & pan and you keep your OEM.
