    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Sealing the airbox?

I'm trying to come up with a simple yet effective way of sealing the gigantic gaps under the tank on my 250 from allowing water to free flow into them. I was thinking of chopping up a 1 gal milk jug and trying to fit it under the tank with it extending into the airbox above the filter. Even if that idea pans out there are still huge gaps in the upper corners where the subframe cutouts are located. Any solutions out there with pics for my simple mind:busted: Guess a roll of duct tape could cure some of it. Old inner tube cut up to make some kind of splash guard?
 
I've been contemplating the same issues on an 09Te510.I'm thinking some coarse foam like the type used to keep mud and "stuff" from accumulating between the motor and skid plate.I think it could be cut or shaped to fit in those areas,would slow down the waterfall effect from a good splash,and not restrict the air flow to the point of loosing performance.I just haven't nailed down if that's the method I want to use.I feel that it may be easier to install than old rubber tubes or a bucket,or jug.
 
You could buy 1 1/2x 1 1/2 foam from a good hardware store. Cut to fit and shove it under tank by top of shock to block water form coming in. Works for me.

If you happen to have any life jackets that are starting to look ratty, they have closed cell foam that is quite useful for things just like that and it seems to be somewhat heat resistant.
Might be helpful in those deep water crossings too.
 
Wife and I went to JoAnn Fabrics and bought some 1" and 2" foam. Works like a champ, just cut and fit as needed. I used 2" foam in the various gaps around the subframe gaps. the only think I don't have a solution for is directly above the filter where the gas tank will drain water and drip under the seat right onto the filter. That's what I was thinking the milk jug cut out might work for... I tend to avoid the big water whenever possible, so the situation is most likely not very probable I'd ever be in that deep intentionally.
 
I took the easy way out. I simply cleaned up the bottom of airbox and duct taped it. Put a few slits in, so the water could drain. It's been on for two seasons and I haven't had to redo it and I used black tape, so it doesn't look cobby.
