• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SE regional get together in June?

I'd like to organize a SE regional get together perhaps in early June. We'd offer some new 09 demos on a private riding reserve with all facilities (except shower facilities, garden hose will have to suffice) including camping and a lake to take a dip in. Plenty of access and parking for the biggest of RV's however no extra hook ups available. Inexpensive hotels are just 3 miles away along with a few major eating establishments and outlet mall just outside of N Metro Atlanta (Dawsonville, GA)

Chime in if you're interested in attending and what weekend in June might be best for you. We've narrowed it down to preferably June 13 & 14th, but 21 & 22nd is also available.

Ideally we'd have a group meet with both dual sport and on property single track riding opportunities on Saturday. There is approximately 10 miles of tight single track with another 4-5 miles of jeep type trails intersecting and a mini MX track on over 200 acres. It's also located just a couple of miles from a National Forest where there are a bunch of back road gravel opportunities for the TE/guy's with plates gang. Do a BBQ dinner around the campfire with outdoor movie/video Saturday evening. Night riding is also a possibility as it is private and we do it from time to time for fun. We'd have demo's Sat and Sunday. We might recruit one of HSQ's VIP's to attend if it doesnt conflict with scheduling (GNCC's and all)

So please chime in if interested and indicate which weekend might work best for you.

Thanks!

Id be in for the 20th and 21st also. I think these are the days you ment instead of the posted 21stand 22nd.

I would be looking at camping with the kids probably.

Mike

Correct June 20/21 as the second available week. Would love to offer something sooner, but we're already kinda booked up and alot folks are doing enduros until Memorial Day weekend. It might be a tad warm in June, but fun nonetheless!

Keep the feedback coming and June 20/21 will be the latest we can do this and take advantage of some programs to help make it happen from HSQ
