  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No excuse there,,,when you pay good money it better fit...

Can't argue with that. I was very disappointed with the way it mounted up but it was easy enough to fix. Complaining about it wasn't going to fix it and I was not confident that a replacement was going to fit any better. Don't care for the plated finish on the PC/FMF pipes.

Lol, now I'm worried about crunching the pipe!

 How you deal with adversity is the key to life and happiness. Fix it and move on.

Man that is a nice machine - wouldn't want to ride it

On a side note I have noticed the removal of the standard pipe on the later 09 frame is a lot harder than the older frame. The end hits on suspension reservoir - I think I may have to remove the subframe just to get it off

The pipe inserted in the end of the chamber is the stinger, right? The depth inserted is part of the tuning I thought.

From what i've learned the stinger should be located at the end of the reflector. The angle of entry beeing
The Same as the reflector. A stinger has a diameter to suit the power of your bike after this sertain diameter it gets bigger and enters into the tailpipe. The tailpipe should be larger then the stinger diameter and has no other function to the exhaust then to guide gasses to th exit. A muffer should be larger than a stinger and works best if they ar not stuffed tight with damper material.

This is what i know about slingers.

I also have learned that an exhaust from a 200cc bike will never give the power than a calculated pipe will give on a 125.

Just what i know and don't pretend to know it all.
