• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So by what you have written looks like the Honda Team broke the rules and should get a DQ

Johnny Campbell in a helicopter lands and takes over for the injured Timmy Weigand I thought the rules state the use of a helicopter to transport ridders or parts was not allowed

Actually the Honda rider didnt break any rules when he was transported by helicopter to the bike. If he had already ridden earlier in the day, and then got on the bike after a helicopter ride--then he would have been breaking rule GL8. Page 15 in the rule book. But a rider can be transported by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft for purposes of racing, as long as its NOT after an earlier ride during the event. In this case the rider was a 'ghost rider' signed up the day before the race (so no paper trail, etc) just as a back up in case another rider was needed, as indeed he was. Honda has been doing this for decades, and its all very well known and doesnt violate the rules. KTM should do the same.

However:

David Kamo is on record at enduro360.com as saying a teammate radioed to him from the helicopter regarding another race bike crashing in front of him. This IS in clear violation of rule GL8.

Will JCR be penalized for breaking rule GL8? Of course not. While it was a violation of the rules, in this one case the violation didnt result in Honda gaining a position, and that is the usual qualifier for penalization at a SCORE event.

From the SCORE rule book-regarding the penalty for breaking rule GL8 (aircraft support rule)
"any violation of the aircraft support rule may be grounds for disqualification of the entrant and possible 12 month suspension of the Driver of Record"

Chili tell Johnny to tell David to keep it zipped?

This being a Husky site:

2 Husky bikes entered the SF 250-the first of three baja SCORE races each year.

The 401x bike- a modified TE510- overheated after the 4mm nut that holds the impeller to the drive shaft of the water pump came off. Weird. Sadly it took a long time to diagnose the source of the overheating, and even longer to get a new water pump to the stricken bike. DNF after timing out. Im told that effort wont be entered at the 500, instead helping KTM with remote pits.

Not sure status of the sportsman class Husky entry. Anyone?

Congrats to KTM.
