• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team's Ryan Villopoto will regrettably miss the upcoming Grand Prix of Spain; the US champion is still suffering from the coccyx injury sustained at the GP of Trentino.

Despite several weeks of intensive care and Ryan's desire to get back racing in the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship as soon as possible, the multiple US Motocross and Supercross champion has had to postpone his come back. Already a winner in the World championship when he was victorious in Thailand on only his second GP appearance, Ryan has been unable to sit and train on his Kawasaki KX450F-SR since the accident in Italy and is currently in the USA working with his personal trainer Aldon Baker on an intensive fitness programme to recover from this injury. Following his strong performance in the recent GP of Europe at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands South African Tyla Rattray will be the sole representative of the KRT squad at Talavera de la Reina, 80 kilometers west of Madrid, where the Spanish GP, round six of the world series, will be held this coming weekend (May 9/10).

Ryan Villopoto: “My goal is to be back racing as soon as possible, but to have a chance to fight for MXGP wins you must be 100% fit. Together with the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team we did our best for a prompt recovery, but unfortunately we have to wait a few more days before we'll be back racing.”

His hole is much deeper than AC222 hole but both these champs are gonna have to go for race wins ... 2 weeks after this race before the race in Great Britain on the 24th of May.

Nothing much left but some crying, 10 races of some sort and Glen Helen racing Sept 20th ...Just gave myself a big-boy slap to the face as I just realized RV2 cannot race the MXoN this year, correct?

Why can't RV race the MXoN this year? When Australia hosted the event back in the early 1990's Billy Lyles was part of the winning USA squad even though he was racing the FIM 500cc Gran Prix series in Europe.

I'm in the dark really with MXoN ...All I know is I'm under the impression you have to ride our outdoors to represent the states but maybe not ... I hope you are right ..

Here's some more words from RV ... Who is helping him set up the bike at each race? His words never seem to reflect he's getting much help ... He does say below that Kawi sent over someone to help with the engine ... Sounds weak to me if they have waited so long ...

As everyone knows Ryan Villopoto crashed a few weeks back and missed the Dutch GP and will now also miss the Spanish GP. He is currently in America with his trainer and word is he will be attending the opening round of the AMA Nationals for a ceremony to celebrate his career. He did put some words down on what is happening and how the accident happened and here it is below.

But we’re learning and adapting at each round. Obviously, I haven’t been to any of these tracks, so especially at a circuit like Arco most the guys have a setting that they know. Maybe it worked last year, maybe it didn’t. So they know which direction to go, or what not to try. We’re just showing up in the dark…

We’ve spent the last few weeks testing and trying to get some extra power out of the motor, and it’s working. Kawasaki brought over a couple guys from Japan and Theo Lockwood, who I use to work with a lot in the States.

Once again, we got a pretty good start. Not quite as good as the first moto, but we were still right there. For a while I was in third, but close to Tony. It was a little bit like a cat and mouse. He was a little quicker here, and I was a little faster there, but I couldn’t find a place to make a pass. Desalle got into the mix and tried running it up on me on the inside down one of the hills. I should have just let him go but I swept around him on the outside. A few turns later I crashed.

Honestly, I don’t even know what happened. Everything was good, and then wham, I was on the ground. I went to the medical center and for an X-ray but they couldn’t tell me if I broke anything or not. So we packed up headed to Milan and flew back to Belgium on the Monday afternoon. I saw a doctor who confirmed what I didn’t want to hear: I broke my tailbone in four spots. Unfortunately, there’s nothing they can do for it, so basically, we just have to wait and let it heal.
