  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Running in a new TE510

S - 4 - B

Husqvarna
C Class
The day has finally come , my brand spanking new 2007 Te 510 is being delivered this afternoon.

I have never really adhered to any running in advice. Always just gotten on to a new bike , or into a new car and rode it as I would normally.

But , liking the new girl as much as I do , I am seeking advice...what did/would you guys do ???

First off, welcome to the Brand and....er..... nice choice of bike.:thumbsup:

Far as I know, all the Husqvarna Owners manuals that come with the bike tell you exactly how it should be done.
Ever body adheres to that and this is what the Husqvarna dealers recommend you do as well.
RTM and you wont go wrong.

The Manual Says:

- warm up the engine by running at low revs before using

the motorcycle;

- avoid quick starts and never rev up the engine when in

low gear;

- ride at low speed until the engine is warmed up;

- apply both brakes several times to settle the pads and

the discs;

- do not maintain the same speed for a long time;

- do not ride for a long time without stopping;

- NEVER drive downhill with GEARBOX IN NEUTRAL, but

shift into gear to brake with the engine if necessary,

thus preventing the fast wear of the brake pads.

Enjoy the new bike and congrats.:applause:

Thanks for the reply.

The bike has had its first oil change already , and the odo is on 600km's .
