• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Round 6 AMA National Hare and Hound Husky 165

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Well I made the 610 mile trip up to Cherry Creek Utha.Which is just south of Salt Lake City
To race the Waly Smith 165 You know the bike Husky should make Well once again the bike ran great.I finished 1st in the 250 class But in the National 0 to open 50A class got 2nd.That is my best finish so far this year on the little bike against the open class Plus to do it out of state againt the locals in the Utha trees makes it even better. At one point I saw a sign on a hill which said 7,386 feet and the 165 still had power.
The course was 119 miles long which made for a longggggggggg day .I do have all 120 miles on film so I will edit it and post. The 165 sounds so good railing in the trees
I beleive I was the only Husky there

Im happy to hear the news Ajax you da man.
But I need to say why do you guys all ping on Husqvarna to build a bike that 25 guys in the US might buy.
Just stick to the program and take the OEM machine and make it a custom, like so many successful hot rod shops and name it your own. Think outside the box not inside the corporate box. Its your bike and you customized it, you name it.
Just to get the idea (which you all prob know) Hartge BMW, Dinan BMW, Shelby Ford, Farioli KTM, HM Honda (that is a really good example, they build in house alot of cc variations on the Honda machines and clone minis as well), AMG Mercedes, friggan West Coast Customs, Orange county choppers etc etc etc.
WB165 Husqvarna. simple if H doesn't like the use of the company name simply the WB165. I personally like Ajax165 it has a stronger more Godlike name!! RN (my tuppence)

PS it's Ut-ah

Your points are well taken, but I think you seriously underestimate the WB165 popularity/sales-potential. 25 in the US? I won't be surprised if there ends up being close to 25 in this area.:)
I know I'm gettin me one.

Better to call it the Walt Smith or WB 165 I had nothing to do with this build . Just think if I listed it as the WB165 on the entry form there would be NO Husky entered. Mototally has the results listed and once again mine is the only Husky listed .
Also if there was a 165 program I beleive Husky would sell more they 25 units.Robert you need to ride one to understand. There is no way to compair a 165 to a 125 period.I have another video to post showing the Husky still pulling at over 7,000 feet

Ummm I don't know but I think if Husky would build a 200 they would sell more than 25 here in the US. I'm pretty sure KTM sells more than that. The WB165 was as close as Walt could get us to it and I wouldn't doubt there are more than 25 of them riding around. I do agree modding a bike the way you want it can be fun. BTW I still want Husky to build a 200 :D!

25 units was just a # example (no need to take that as so serious).
Having the 310 I am very aware of the chassis, losing more than a few pounds with a nice torque and power 2 stroke is win win.
I am not doubting the value of this machine at all. Just dont count on Husky building it, go with the made in USA mantra, or made in Italy reengineered and built in USA.

Like I said a while back, change plastic color and graphics. If you need to comply with contingency regs incorp the H logo/name into the new graphics.

I worked on editing the 5 plus hours of the Utah National. There is so much good riding area up in the trees It is hard to cut some of it out Looks like my first try would make the video 62 min.
Either I can cut more out or you the viewer can fast foward if you like
So how long do most people want a race video to be

Since it is all good "footage" why not post it in segments? Like part I, II etc?

I researched that area when we did our recent trip to Moab. Looks very cool and similar to what we ride here. Might have to make it down there one day. Look forward toy our vid.

- and yes, the 165 flat rules.
