• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Race Report (From the good folks at Vurb)

Pro Class
The riders and teams were welcomed back after the off weekend to torrential downpours and nearby tornadoes Friday night. Upon arrival to the track Saturday morning it was a graveyard of awning carcasses and wind flags scattered throughout the pits. The first practices were nearly a quagmire and riders were even getting stuck attempting to scale Mt. Martin. The crew did an amazing job to pull things together with a little help from mother nature in the form of sunshine and a nice breeze to help dry things out. The team however had an off day; for the first time since Glen Helen in round two, they did not have at least one rider on the podium.

Jason Anderson has always been fast at Spring Creek. That did not change this past weekend as he set the 2nd fastest qualifying time in practice. The only rider in front of him was Ryan Dungey, who pretty much grew up there. In the opening moto his start was decent. somewhere around the top 5. Then as the pack came around again to cross the finish line for the first time, he was no longer there. In an attempt to make a pass, he tried to jump out of a rut and into another one. He got it halfway right, which never seems to work out and went down. When he finally did reappear, he was just inside the top 20. Anderson worked his way all the way back to 6th place by moto's end with a quite commendable effort.

In the second moto, Jason made a curious choice with his gate pick, lining up all the way inside. He saw some dirt that was a little bit harder that he thought he could gain some traction on. It worked marvelously and he started right up front. Unfortunately he went the opposite direction in the last outing, ending up in the same position of 6th, garnering him 5th overall. He struggled a bit with his line choices and the track was beating him up. Sometimes being creative and looking around is required in those types of conditions, but when you struggle early, you lose the energy to do so.

Jason Anderson : "I had a good practice and qualified in 2nd. In the first moto, I was up near the front and I took a little bit of a digger that put me way back and I came back to 6th. In the second moto I started up front again and went back to 6th. I just ran out of steam, the train slowed down. The track was pretty rough especially with the moisture we had the night before"

Unlike his teammate, Zach Osborne has not had the best of experiences in Millville. Also contradictory to Anderson were Osborne's moto performances. While he too had the same moto scores in his first and second motos, he was stronger in the second go-around. In moto 1, he went backwards a bit, while in moto 2, he was catching and passing the guys who were giving him fits prior. It's always a good sign when a rider gets faster when the track gets rougher, but for Zach and the team, it takes two good motos every weekend. However; while they want no worse than podiums every time, 5th is not terrible by any means.

Zach Osborne : "Today was pretty disappointing. I had decent speed in practice and felt ok on the track but in the first moto, I just didn't have a lot of pop and just got a mediocre 7th. I felt super flat and just couldn't get going. In the 2nd moto I got a really bad start around 20th or 25th and I came back to 7th for 5th overall. If this is my worst result for the rest of the season that will be ok, it's not so bad to get 5th on a bad day. I'm looking forward to Washougal, I like that track a lot. Moving forward to next week and i'm sure it will be better."

The team heads to the beautiful Pacific Northwest next weekend and they are poised for possibly their best results of the year. Anderson has always coined Washougal as one of his favorite tracks and has been racing there since he used to attend Loretta Lynn's Regional Quailifers as a kid. Osborne is also very fond of the Washington track and excited to get back on the podium. For Pourcel, the surface just simply suits his style, giving him a natural upper hand on the competition.
