• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

RIP Mr Bowie

He said he did just about everything you could do, but did he ride?

He marched to his own tune...no doubt.

R U kidding me? It sucks growing old watching everyone we know pass on. He helped Tina Turners comeback.

watched a story on the teev just the night before about a lot of the backing vocalists who tried to turn solo and bowie featured quite a bit in trying to get them soloing. was a great story. the number of 60's songs that were actually sung by session muzo's but sold as "by this band / group" was amazing.

I just seen the Moody Blues here last summer there orginal drummer is 74 yo, where did the time go.

74 and still banging sticks eh? pretty good. I guess they were so well "oiled" when young, they aint worn out like us punters

Who from the 60's and 70's can't remember David Bowe. Highly inspirational artist. I read somewhere he was among the top wealthiest musicians right along with Paul McCartney. And it was my impression that a great deal of it was from savvy financial management.

I watch an episode of Dan Rathers The Big Interview last night. He interviewed John Fogerty who is now 70. Aging musicians can truly make a guy stop and think about his own mortality...well that and falling off ones dirt bike. Ouch! that hurts at 58.

In the 70's Fogerty wasn't one of my favorites but many of his songs have become classics. He's is without a doubt gifted. His work includes Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Who'll Stop The Rain, Fortunate Son, Down on The Corner, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Suzie Q, and the list goes on.

what was impressive about my fogerty was how many hit songs, and only in a few years...ccr really pumped out the hits for just a brief few

sadly like a lot of great bands, they got caught up in management nightmares and chose to do nothing till the contract ran out. Heart was another. and there was another famous band but strangely I cant remember????

Hey lets not forget Stevie Wright of Easybeats fame, Evie parts 1-3, and just today Glenn Frey from the Eagles.

I spent a lot of time at Wye River on the Great Ocean Rd and it has been erased this summer by bushfire along with some of my fondest memories on the coast with a host of favourite musicians including Bowie, Wright and the Eagles.

We still have our huskies though !!!

that should be the last ageing rock star for a while then as everything happens in threes.....

my mother used to regale us of the night in Lorne in the 40's when they were all pushed into the sea at 1.00AM as the fire burned the town to the ground right to the foreshore with all the embers blowing over them. scary stuff those Otways fires
