• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ricci Racing Husqvarna 2011 MX2 thread

Michael Leib, this is his father, moved into an apartment near the Ricci Race Team race shop this past weekend. He will be racing the Italian Nationals and getting ready for the GP's to start. He saw the race bikes at the race shop today and was very excited. He said the bikes are very cool..... lot's of special handmade parts for the TC250.

DL,
Thanks for the news, the Ricci Team is a class act Michael is with a winning team. Those Husky's will be full on GP works bikes! Very cool!! Let ML know he has a whole crew of new fans!! Also watch the diet the food is the best over there!!!

2007: 8th place in the European championship motocross
2009: 10th place in the European championship motocross
5 ° Italian Championship Motocross
2010: 2nd place in the European championship motocross EMX2
Motocross MX2 Italian champion riding a Husqvarna 250TC

What is the difference between EMX2 racing and MX2 racing?

UEM EMX2 is the "Nat" (kind of)lites class EU championship (minor leagues). MX2 is the FIM World Championship(lites class)(major league)

for comparison the kid Ivo Monticelli wins a SX championship in the UEM cup and can't even qualify for a main or make the fast 40 to the heats in AMA/FIM Supercross, welcome to the big leagues. So It's a stepping stone or even an end game for many riders.
Then you will also see the Nats (Ita,Fra,Swd,etc) as well, those are under the control of each Nat federation most of the Nats have a limit for international riders to help their own countrymen progress for international competition and to keep it more national in flavor.

K, MXGP bikes, kinda like AMA MX works bikes before the production rules came out. Special factory parts galore with crazy hi end aftermarket supplier bits as well. Probably at weight minimum, cubic euros=low weight. Big power but not so loud.

The FIM MX2 calendar has the USGP included. So it looks like the Ricci MX2 Team will be here (Glen Helen) to race.

latest news note after 2 rounds FYI, Illario Ricci makes clear that this "Nat series" is providing a proving ground to get the bikes fully dialed in for the real goal, the MX2 world championship. He mentions they have found "solutions" for setups. Also it seems that the format for the Internazionale D'Italia is the 125s (juniors) and one Elite class for both MX2 and MX1 bikes all out at the same time. Check in on this DL Rocket and keep us up how Michael is doing (He is doing well from the race news!) Thanks

Yep ... it will be grand seeing a Husky sitting in the starting gate ... There will be alot of cool looking ~factory looking bikes but these current Huskies can hold their own when flying around GH ...
