• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Results from D37/Prairie Dogs/Big 6 GP at Glen Helen, CA

Cool music with your video. So how long is the loop/lap out there? Being my first year back I'm trying at least one of everything and already making plans for next year to try different races. Still have a Dual Euro Scramble, Desert Scramble and GP to check off the list this year. I don't know if starting with a National Hare n Hound was the easier way to get the old feet wet, but gave me a big appreciation for the pure fun factor of a shorter race like the West Hare Scramble last weekend.

They run the same basic course for the October BIG 6 race so unless they get screwed by the powers that be I bet I'll see ya in Gorman.

Thanks for the props.

Ya know, I'm not sure how long a lap was. But, they did go by pretty fast and the layout was sick. The series has been a balst - next weekend we're at 29 Palms.

I'm focusing on the Big 6 but also plan to do a few D38 races this year plus Lake Elsinore GP and the Race Around the Lake up in Castaic.

Look forward to seeing you at Gorman!

I'm kicking the idea around of maybe trying the 29 Palms race. It all depends on whether my last plastic part shows up and if we can get some work done on a rental house to get it ready for rent. I will surely do the Castaic race, gotta support my local race! I could probably just ride over there. It would be faster than loading up my bike.

A while ago (hmmmm 02 maybe 03....)----on my KTM250EXC I did the 29 Palms Big Six race, invited guest friend of a friend's sponsor club. It freaking rained the day before and has been burned into my memory as one of the most fun "dez" type races I've ever done, we had a race long battle with a guy on an RM250 safe and great racing, on each others wheels, on the pipe for the entire time, I think he was 3rd me 4th Vet or 40B class.
