• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Restarting Issues for TE 630

Devildogg

Husqvarna
B Class
I was wondering if anyone is having this problem. I have a P/U kit in and the JD. It was running great and restarting every time I shut it off. All of a sudden I have this problem. I hit the trails and pull over to rest, shut it down and it won’t restart. I have to wait about 15 minutes and it will start up again. Connected it to Ibeat and the temp sensor was working correctly. I think there may be two reasons:
1. I have the factory settings for 114,109,106. I think the JD recommends it be set back to 100 across the board. I also would love to know if JD recommends leaving the O2 sensor in.
2. I disconnected the throttle body connection and there was water in it. I looked at the error codes on Ibeat and they said manifold sensor error. I believe that is where it is. Anyway there shouldn’t be water in any connection.
I also read about water in someone’s connection on here, but I can’t remember where or what connection they are talking about.
Is there a third Hypothesis? Anyone who can answer this would be a genus. Thanks in advance to everyone that responds.

JD wants the O2 sensor unplugged. How many miles on the bike?
There are about 1200 mile now and no valve adjustment yet. When this thing is running its incredible. twist the throttle in 2nd and its wheelie away. I just have a problem restarting. Thank you

I would check valve clearances for starters. You are due for a check and won't be wasting any time.

It starts up the first shot. If I shut it off it won’t restart. I have to wait about 10 minutes and then it will fire up again. I don’t hear the valves at all so I'm not sure if this may be the problem. I was getting an error code from Ibeat that said (manifold sensor error). I’m not sure if there is even one on the 630. There was also no reading on the manifold pressure either. I disconnected the plug to the throttle body and the inside of the plug was a little black, like moldy and wet. I let it dry and plugged it back in and it started. The readings on ibeat went haywire, but I’m not sure if this is the problem for restarting. It sound like this is a bad design because the plug is upside down so it contains water. I know that I read something in regards to someone having the same problem. Thank you though, I will tell my mechanic about your suggestion.

Interesting. I have ridden my 630 in some serious rain on more than one occasion and have not had the problem you describe.

In the rain it would probably be okay, but If you go through some river beds and submurge it that plug would be soaked. The connection is right underneath the tank on the left side of the bike. I also wash my bike a lot and I soak everything, but again I'm not sure if this is my restarting issue.

I'd dry it out and wrap it up with electrical tape and see if your problem goes away. If that fixes it, come up with something prettier than electrical tape to seal it up. Heat shrink tubing, perhaps.

Thanky a lot, I figured I would be able to place some electronic grease inside it first, then do what you suggest. My concern is that the computer readings are haywire. I hope this is the problem
