• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Replacing front light with MX plate - 2014

Burton

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi,

As title says has anyone done this ?

The '14 TC has a different fender mount so I'm not sure if it's as simple as using mx plate onto my '14 TE fender.

I think I'll have to buy a new fender as when light bracket is removed there is a hole in existing fender. Unfortunately '14 TC fender won't fit my triple clamps.

Thanks for any help.

The quick and dirty solution, that keeps your existing front fender, is the 2012 Husaberg TE250/300 fender brace and the '14 number plate. You may have to trim the plate a little.

Thanks - there must have been 2 fender brackets in 2012 then on the TE ? I'm in UK and TE's in '12 seem to have come with the same version on my '14 TE ie both had lights. I've googled some images and there appears to be some U.S. TE's with a a smaller fender bracket and front plate on them.

You can get a adapter to convert the new style fender to the older style triple. You'd need a new fender and then the matching number plate. If you ever want to run a headlight, you'd need a whole new style assembly too, or reinstall the OEM fender.

US spec TE's didn't have lights in '12. In the UK, it would be easier to source the same brace using KTM source. I found the part in UK, here's the link. Way cheaper than the adapter.

before the tecate sprint enduro I just changed to 15/16 style from my 2014 (husaberg front style) te300 using the flatland racing bracket kit, I bought it from Slavens Racing, knowing his crew was doing the job and had experience with it (with help from PNW Jake). it works fine. I got the TC number plate and I also purchased the new 15/16 style headlite assy to go with the new style fender. the only thing I do notice, but not important is that my tire hits the fender more on the rear inside due (only on hard hits) to the fender being slightly pushed forward with the bracket kit. also removed the rear light under fender assy so its a TC/E 300 in body work now.

Yep I'll remove rear lights and probably the e start system. Bike rarely stalls so I'm happy to lose the weight.

here she is with no enduro stuff, a 2014 TE300 with the flatland kit makes it a 2015/16 TC250
IMG_1789.jpgIMG_1786.jpgIMG_1787.jpgIMG_1788.jpg snd yes those are 2016 FE350S shrouds.. GP was good to let me steal them off a floor bike while my ones on order were waiting to come in.

Your bike looks great Rob! I just prefer the enduro look, even when I race Hare Scrambles. In the muddy east, the taillight and license plate help keep the mud off you!

PS threebond grip glue is most exceptional stuff 2 times in the rain with no grip safety wire and they are firm.

maybe doing a mexico 3 day..so the enduro stuff will go back on for some lights on for safety and in case of darkness riding

ive ordered up the small fender bracket and number plate from FX '12 - very cost effective option as still use existing fender and no trimming on plate required. Also easy to reinstall light.

Will post up a pic when installed .

Hey Burton, wanting to do the same thing to me 2014 TE250. Just wondering if you could post up a picture of how it turned out?
