• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Removing the CAT from my 09/610 te exhaust

Blazes

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have a Arrow aftermarket pipe on my 610te with the O2 conversion and have had my original pipe in the box --sooooooooo --decided to decat it for a friend on an exchange basis as the aftermarket pipes here in SA are scarce and Hellish expensive for the normal person.

The CAT --stainless steel can after being removed--

No wonder the poor bikes are so CORKED up --its a wonder the gas can pass through this --

After the new core was put in --

The Adaptor to the tail end --slip in tight fit and expands tight when warm---

The Finished product --before i put the Stainless rivets back --looks like the original from the outside --but inside much lighter and the thing can breath --the advantage i found about doing it this way --besides the cost is that it has two mounting points and not one like the aftermarket units --sound very good as well-

Cost --Bought my friend a Fanta Orange for the packing and adaptor --

I am so ignorant about the newer bikes..I didnt know they have cats!!.. this just frosts me.. we have cats on these bikes YET...70 buick skylarks are puking out blue smoke worse than anything these bikes produce...arrrrrgggg!!!.. few yrs back there was a KIT CAR legislation here. The kit cars obtained an exemption for emissions testing & related hardware.. I lobbied to include other vehicles in THAT Bill..but was too late....
So now we can have a kit car with a valve sucking oil engine & its ok!...yet we have a single cylinder MC & YOU BETTER pass emissions!.. Gimme a break..
sorry guys I am a vintage guy & decided to come over to "The Dark Side"....read your posts...LOL
