• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Red Heads in world championship action 2013

Nicely done videos! Was trying to note some of their equipment. All skid/bash plates I saw were metal. No plastic, etc. Did not see any protection of the oil filter line. Couldn't see any disc protectors. Anyway, back to the vids. :)

the skid plates are CH Racing skid plates (I have one on my TXC310R that was on my TE310) the CH Racing oil line protector has been....reproduced from Enduro engineering here in the USA. Also its possible (Ive seen a variant) that there is an additional alloy wing welded onto the skid plate as an oil line guard. The CH Racing skid plate is very HD alloy, its a thick plate and yes its quite heavy. Also good note about the disc guards, now that I think about Ive not seen shark fins on the wec bikes. Also, did anyone notice Bart Oblucki sitting under the easy-up with the crew?

That is a nice looking plate. Particularly with the additional piece welded in.

Wish I could recall the name, I saw another nice plate sold in Europe. It had triangular-like holes and a vertical attachment long enough to shield the oil line up to the top.

I have been leaning toward the TMD plate. Just not sure though. Plastic or Alloy, hmmm.

back and forth between Hyde Plastic and CRD Alloy on my TXC450, I swear I could really feel the difference. The bike felt smoother in sharp stuff and more relaxed with the plastic plate. It was quieter and allowed more natural frame flex with the Hyde. The only thing with the Hyde was that I wore them out fairly fast. I think the TMD will last, that thing is super thick.

Mecasystems that's it. Very nice looking plate. Yeah the TMD is thick for sure. May end up with it. You know you have protection with alloy but like said, the noise etc.
