  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

what color red did husky use in the late 70s on the tanks..Im doing something a little different with my 83 XC..Black frame and seat, white plastic buying the universal UFO front and back fenders stock side panels, and yellow back grounds with a red tank with black inlay..black shock springs with red shock bodies ,and if I get really adventures powder coat the rims black. I spent the last 2 day sand blasting every piece on the bike now I'm just waiting for my friend to put the powder on..What do you guys think? in my head it looks cool kinda like a 80 cr are there any changes you would make? I was thinking of powdering the swingarm metallic gray?

80 CR ...cool... hmmmmm:thinking::D:D:D

Sounds great to me.... every Husky is Unique. I think the black frame sounds great ... are you doing a matte(flat) finish or gloss..... ?

Yellow seems to be the hot choice for backgrounds.... are you getting custom backgrounds printed with #s???

My 75 250 CR has had a black frame since 78. I thought it was cool back then at 15. Now I just might go with the white 83 style.

Were can I find preprints?
Do any of you know were I can get some griper material for my seat cover.
The finish is going to be gloss black. I'M still tossing around the idea of a gray swing arm..I need to make up my mind I'm powdering it Friday.

Any decent MX graphics shop e.g. ZLT MX ID can make you custom preprints if you supply them with either the plastic number plate itself or an existing background decal..... they will usually charge you about $25 or $25 for artwork + the decal itself..... For your bike I would guesstimate about $50 out the door for three custom preprinted number plate decals......

JMO but go all black for continuity of frame and swingarm.....

Dude! That's awesome! But I can't find them! (seems like a decent price, too)

Leftcoast,
Can't find the Husky Product repo number plates either - I'm in. Will need some white ones for my project. Post some up for all to see.
Mattskn,
Try a search for "Hi-Flite". They make foam and covers for our bikes. All colors (including some wild graphics) and anti-slip are available. Talk to Tracy, she is very helpful.
Rick

Thanks for the info Schimmelaw I've added the link for you http://www.hi-flite.com/mx.html HuskyT
