  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Race Map II when powered up?

ScottyR

Husqvarna
AA Class
I "powered up" my 2011 TE449 and the speedo says that I am on Race Map II. If it is the same as the older TEs, Race Map II is the mellower setting. I assumed that it would be on the aggressive setting when it was powered up? Has anyone else noticed what theirs says?

Stock my 2011 TE511 said nothing, then I put the resister in under the seat and it says "Race map". Then I decatted the muffler and it defaulted to "race maps II" gained good bark off the bottom and a lot more over rev / top end power. It makes the most power in this setup by far. The cool thing is with the decatted big muffler the bike rips and is super quiet at the same time. Sounds like a choked XR400 but runs awesome. Rode with a dude on a KTM530 in the dez and we were both faster on the 511. He LOVED the 511 and i got him on vid with a big cheezy grin proclaiming his love for the 511 after a short ride. :)

race map 2 is race setting my 449 came with akro pipe on and set up race map 2 pretty sure it isnt melow setting to complete the race map set up you have to remove the indicators and mirrors only then it will be in proper race mode:applause:

sure would be nice if there was some consistancy in the "features" of the Husqvarna line-up. On the '11 TE310 Race MapII is the mellower ignition map and same fueling as the Race MapI. However I have found no way to switch the mapping on the 449/511 actively and we have an email into Italy to confirm the Race Map modes and if there is a way to switch between them.

On the TC449, the right side red button which is the kill button on the TE's is the map selector switch and there is a separate kill switch on the left of the handlebar.

Anybody else get an intermitant " FAIL" on the dash on their TE? I put the first 25 miles on it today and every now and then after stopping or turning it on I would get "FAIL". It always went away and the bike never seemed to run differently. I have the race map ll resistor in, but no other mods.

I got it once, just after the engine failed to start on the first attempt. On the second attempt the bike fired right up and I got the "Fail" indication. I killed the motor, waited about 5 seconds, started it again and all was well.

maybe water in the rad temp sensor i had it few times when new after every wash wd40 in sensor terminals, but seems to have gone now,if a fail occurs and then doesnt occur the ecu will reset its self and it goes away.if that makes any sense

Thats funny, I put the jumper in only (stock muffler & cat) and my TE511 says "race map II". They don't seem to be very consistent from bike to bike?

This is probably all software driven (and hardwired ?) into its cpu or whatever device on the bike ... Two different paths giving the ~same(?) results? Maybe it is expected and by design, maybe not .. only the developers (and testers(?)) know for sure ...

All this feedback from you real world riders\ testers should be very interesting to the developers I'd think ...

I noticed the exact same thing mate with mine today. Have clocked up 40kms today on a short ride...seems to run fine just pops up intermittently....

How is it running these days?

when you put in the plug it don't affect your warranty does it?, as i done this a few days ago on my smr511, i think it makes the bike run smoother
