• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Quetion on Leo Half Systems

SteadyEddie

Husqvarna
B Class
Okay, so my 630 came with the Leo Half System on it and I kinda like the dual can - As it is a street bike, I am not really all that worried about an extra few lbs here and there

My question is, with this system (Spark Arrestors Removed) which is the Leo X3, is this a "Quieter Than Normal" System or is there something in the stock header pipes that I am missing to keep it on the hush hush? - I ask as I had a Full Leo on my old 690sm and it was LOUD as can be - The 630 sounds great under power but she is still much quieter than my old Katoom

No one is running the Half System that thinks these things are quiet? - What am I missing? - Is there a restriction anywhere?

quiet is good.

Quiet can also mean that I am not getting the most out of the exhaust - Like I said, the Leo System I had on my 690 was twice as loud - Yes, I know that there are 50 more cc's there but just curious if this is a quieter than normal system

Does it come with two inserts? My single system has a spark arrester and a spark arrester/db killer. Open pipe is pretty loud.

I just put the arrester/db killer in the other day, and I kinda like it mellowed out some.

By Leo Half System do you mean:
The Leo TI system with Leo headers and a single Leo can or
Two Leo Slip on can's with stock headers ?

How many cans idd your 690 have ?

Leo Slips aka the half system - My 690 had dual Leo's too - Half System or slips as both bikes use the stock header pipes and then the 690 went into a Y Pipe

Thx JT - That's what I was looking for

the term "half system" is kind of a confusing misnomer.... slip-ons usually gets the point across.

Yes, having had both the Leo full Ti system and the Leo slip-ons, the slip-ons are much quieter. That's pretty easy to figure out though, two mufflers do quite a good job lowering the sound pressure levels

Sorry, just always called it a "Half Sytem" - My Bad

My question also stood as the "Dual Cans" (slip ons) I had on my 690 were Leo's and that bike was loud as hell in comparison to this one
