    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Question on Coolant Flush TE 310

This may be a simple question, but I don't have my manual yet from Husqvarna to answer this one, so I'm looking to the experts! I'm going to replace the hoses on my 2009 TE 310 but not sure where to drain the coolant from. I know I can just pull a hose or something, but.... I see 2 bolts on either side of the cylinder, both with copper washers under neath, one appears to be an 8mm (throttle side), the other an allen headed bolt (clutch side). Are these both drain bolts or? Is there a bleeder bolt somewhere to bleed off the head, or better yet, what's the proper procedure to bleed the system for this motor? Coming from the land of Orange here so I'm still figuring this baby out! Thanks
 
Place a vessel on the R.H. side of the cylinder, under the coolant drain screw.

First remove the drain screw, the SLOWLY open the RH radiator cap, slope the motorcycle to the right side to drain the coolant easily into the vessel. Re-assemble the screw.

Pour the necessary quantity of coolant in the radiator, then warm up the engine to eliminate any possible air bubble.
 
So there isn't a bleeder screw hiding somewhere on the head to bleed off any trapped air in the cylinder?
 
Doesn't mention it in the owner's manual (mine's a TE 250, 2008)

That allen head is higher up on the cylinder and appears to have something to do with the cam. When you see it referred to in the engine manual it says "remove the fastenening screw and the chain slider".
 
Good to know! Helps to have the manual. Called the Husqvarna customer service hotline and they're suppose to be putting a rush on one. Seeing as how I've had the bike for a month now, seems the least they could do! Frustrating.
