• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Do these bikes have a clutch/driveshaft adjustment? Bike seems to run ok maybe lacking a bit of pickup from standstill but the rear wheel locks when pushing it with engine off. Can turn the wheel by hand but it turns engine over(can hear & feel compression). Never used to do it so thought clutch or driveshaft may need attention?

Yes it should just not sure where to look first? I took the cover off rear hub(3x8mm bolts) but nothing in there to look at.

Yeh it surges a little bit. Guess that means clutch not disengaging properly?
Hasn't had an oil change for a while but don't think it'd be that would it?
Can't be that hard I guess I'll wash the bike then take a good look at it. Thought there just might have been an easy adjustment somewhere.

i don't think so Hondas yes its that little screw with jam nut you see you might flush the hell out of it first see if that helps

Gave it a good wash(looks like new again funny that) & had a look. There's a plastic outer cover over clutch cover that must just be for protection. Held on by 2 bolts but can't remove it past the frame! Surely you don't have to remove engine to get the outer clutch cover off?!!

I don't remember exactly but I had the same response as you when I discovered the engine needs to be pulled just to get the side cover off the engine. I do remember it wasn't that bad though. good luck with it. We don't have that bike anymore.

Sounds like a rainy day with a 30 pack? Broken spring for sure. The clutch isn't fully releasing too.

Ever notice the value on these little bikes. The little suzuki 50's are priced high. Through the years there all the same bike.

Dunno why but there's 2 threads about this?! Bigbill on the money-broken spring=ruined clutch. Posted photos in the other same titled thread.
