I recently bought my dads old 2000 cr250 from the guy he sold it to around 2010. It’s in pretty rough shape needs pretty much all frame bearings, cracked triple clamps, dead shock pretty much to be expected from a early 2000s husky with not much maintenance. The engine still runs great but the top of the jug is welded at the power valve covers, it was like this when we previously owned it and never knew why. I recently found a 12 wr300 engine on eBay for $500 and thought possible top end swap or swap the whole engine but use the cr electronics. From my experience the cr ignition is a lot smoother than the WR were. Anyone have experience with this or know anyone that has swapped the top end on older 250s to the 300?
