  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HAHA, Im laughing my arse of reading these replies. Some great pointers here. Others not so much, I'll want to be able to live to ride the thing. I've always liked going around it Hogwackr's wa. If playing dumb doesnt do it I may need to play dead if I follow too much of the rest of the advice here.

But I am pretty lucky, I dont get any grief about riding bikes. I always say everyones gotta have something, she plays field hockey, I ride bikes. She will prob just shake her head at me and say you cant ride two bikes at once.

Ruffus that would take a whole nother website LOL. I actually started the training process when we were 14 years old. Now at 52 I almost have here where I want her. Be patient grasshopper you have many more years to go.

Man I'm lucky my wife buys me some of my bikes like my 09 Husky TXC 510, 2011 GG 300, and my 04 Aplilia RSV 1000 Factory without me asking or knowing. The others...she can't tell them apart so she doesn't know when something new finds it way home. I have trained her well over the past 33 years!
Wow, I thought I was a lucky man after 12 years, but you have hit the jackpot!

Key word is girlfriend. They have different models of those too.

Do you scrutinize her purchases? Do you share expenses or live together?

Of course if you plan on marrying or long term you may have to negotiate.
