  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I see lots of info on pump and for the filter between the pump and injectors. What I don't see is any option for a replacement of the filter bag at the intake of the pump. To buy from husqvarna you have to purchase the entire pump assembly for over $600. I am wanting to replace both filters and am trying to find a source for the intake filter by itself. Any help would be great.

Thanks

It's a little beefier than the OEM, so the fit is tighter, but it's working for me. It's been on for over 1000 miles now.

Thanks for the reply. Correct me if I am wrong but when you upgraded to the larger fuel pump you removed the plastic mount for the stock fuel pump? If that is correct then I just want to make sure the size is correct for the fitting of the filter. You would be mounting the filter directly to the intake on the pump. Is the size of the intake the same or similar to the plastic base/mount? Just want to be sure before I order one.

Yes, my plastic housing is not being used with the assembly. The ugly brown pre-filter in the pic is the OEM that I took off my OEM 30mm pump and put on the newer 38mm pump in the pic. The intake tube is the same size on both pumps. As I said, the replacement filter is quite a bit bulkier/thicker than the OEM and you will struggle to get it to fit inside the plastic carrier housing, but I am sure that it can be done.

Got it. Lol. I was thinking the filter fit over the plastic housing not in it and over the pump intake tube. I just purchased the bike about a month ago. The gentleman who owned it before me had a fuel leak where the pump mount attaches to the tank. He used a caulking of some sort to seal it and that got all over in the intake filter the inside of the tank and everythingelse. I am sure the pump is full of stuff and does not run correct all the time. I had the pump out once to fix the leak correctly and cleaned it all up but I did not look close at how it all fits together. I have decided to replace the fuel pump, and both filters in hopes that will help the bike run more consistant. After that I am planning on adding a JD Tuner and fuel air mixture guage so I can tune it on the fly. Thanks again for the help. I will let you know what I find.
