• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Powers 2nd in Class and 18 OA… AMA National Hare Scramble

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Sunday, June 10th, New Berlin NY…Thunder Ridge Sports Location.

Watched the weather forecast…chance of thunder storms both days before the event…
Although it didn't look too bad on the radar, they got pounded Saturday and Saturday night.

They ran the ATV's Saturday, the 9th and really chewed up the track. Sunday turned out to be sunny, hot and humid, even in the woods…just not air moving.

Don't have any pictures; my photographer was not along.

The nationals don't have designated 4-stroke classes. So 250 B it was…lots of 2-strokes.

Total of 123 riders for the afternoon main event with 29 bikes on the 250B line alone…

The club had a 10 mile +/- track with some nasty up and down hills…It would end up being a 6 lap race for the 250 B class. They started them near the back…almost 10 minutes behind the front row pros so they were bound to get lapped…leaders did 7 laps.

I have no idea how he did it…but off the line almost last! And he has E-Start!

The flagman was doing all kinds of funky moving before raising the flag. I think the kid next to him kicked on one of the 'funky' moves before the flag was raised and caught Andy off guard. Andy said he had a half kick reaction to his neighbor and did not get a good first kick in…Again, chalk it up to more learning…concentrate on the flagman…block everything else out.

So, off he went…10 miles, nasty hills, lots of upstate New York's finest mud and close to last place.

So first lap thru…in 3rd and down about 50 seconds to first and on the move.

Lots of goggleless riders first lap thru; which I do not advocate. Andy had a pile of tear-offs on his first set; but was out, so he pulled in for a fresh set…good move.

Because of his start I think he went into push-hard mode…his first 3 laps were fast and his next 3 were significantly slower.

But overall it was a good effort for the day. Just need to keep working on the conditioning!
Andy's total run time was around 3 hours and 40 minute. The machine... 2012 TXC250 worked great all day...

Ended up…
- 2nd in class out of 29
- 2nd overall in the B class
- 18 Overall out of all 123 riders

Awesome comeback! I hope yall are planning on coming down to VA for the final HS round. The course and terrain there is phenomenal and the promoter puts his heart and soul into race course prep.
