• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have a 500 mile old 630 with the O2 sensor still in. My plan was to leave the sensor in and just disconnect the wires at the other end and plug in whatever needs plugging in. From the description you can guess I don't know what to plug/splice/add or where. Can anybody shed some light on what I need to do, preferably with very simple instructions and even a pic.

Am in the UK so most of what you guys have to play with over that side of the pond we don't have.

Thanks

Grez, its easy phone Husky at Cherrington and order a resistor(this plugs in where you disconnect the O2 sensor wires under the tank,) and a brass plug and washer to replace the sensor(this is preferred to leaving the sensor in place)

Grez ring up Nathan John at Adrenalin ATV Husqvarna 01212 707057.I got all my power up kit,Arrow pipes and ECU from there.Smashing guy, infact they have just serviced my bike, picked it up and brought it back.Fantastic service.

Leaving the sensor in place is not a good idea.
If it is not powered up and sensing, it carbons up quickly and stops working anyway.

The plug and brass cap for the sensor are on evilbay. I left the sensor in place as some of the local constabulary are bike savvy. The lead is zip tied under the saddle.

Won't hurt a sensor to leave it in, it gets far hotter from exhaust gas than it does its start up heater. Carbons the same plugged/unplugged except to the extent the bike may be running rich and can't see it/adjust anymore.

Grez, If you have any thought of buying a Power Commander they come with a resistor plug to replace the O2 sensor....

.

Same reason I want to leave the sensor in place - local police. It won't carbon up if not in use and retains the stock look. Would prefer not to use a power commander, don't like adding loads of stuff unless the bike is totally unridable as stock. I am using it for trails and not being an off road god the bike is going to be at least 50 % better than me.......though friends say 90% better having ridden with me.

That´s the trouble with bikes. You get used to more power ... and then want even more.

Can anyone give me the part number of the brass plug used to fill the hole left by removing the 02 sensor.
FMF muffler and midpipe has just arrived from the states and i dont want to have to fit the old sensor into it

I know i have seen it somewhere in these forums before, but havnt been able to find it again.

OK, just got a price for the power up kit and climbed back on my chair. Do you need the new exhausts or can you get away with an ECU and plug kit?
